Artist
Petroleum Falcon is a self-described Knob-Twiddler, String-Plucker, Neo-Hybrid-Retro-Modernist from the ZSXI Recordings label. In addition to his solo work, he produced and/or mixed albums for Asteroid Advocate and The Mod Brothers. His first album, Breaking The Second Law was released in 2010. Release notes from the label: This music attempts to conjure up that brief period when progressive rock was refreshing and creative. In other words, before it began to collapse under its own weight like a neutron star. Musical quotes dot the landscape like bread crumbs leading the way in (or out). Three pieces from uber-classic film scores are covered here, paying homage to modern composers who probably won't like them very much. Other influences include Romantic composers like Herold and Grieg, who's music could often be a soundtrack to the invisible movie playing in your head (if you're into that sort of thing) and of course Hendrix, Hackett, Howe, Hillage, Tibbetts, Fripp, Beck, Page, Gilmour and the rest... The second album, Unassigned Space from 2013, included several very obscure remixes from Asteroid Advocate's Moments Realized album. Release notes were quite minimal: The music in your ears right after that sidewalk up and kissed you on the forehead. http://www.z11s.com/ User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
