Multiple artists use the name Petrichor, including a solo black metal project by Sgah'gahsowáh (Blackbraid) based in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, a UK techno artist, and a doom metal band from Richmond, Virginia. Petrichor is the moniker for the music of young creative Reuben Eves. Reuben grew up in Bath, UK, and has undertaken various creative endeavours throughout his life across different mediums, most notably in photography, which he currently studies in Edinburgh. With his music, Reuben opts to create experimental, unconventionally structured tracks surrounding themes such as his internal struggles with mental health issues including severe OCD; relationships within his life, and social/political commentary. Petrichor’s music is predominantly dark of style and instrumentation, with use of bassy synths, eerie strings and spacious reverb. When starting out to create music, Reuben had no prior experience with playing instruments or music theory, and so relies heavily on his own ear and creativity to produce, mix and master songs.
