Signed to: Sotones Peter Lyons is one of those mischievous, slightly shy, mix-everything-up-and-it’s- great kind of multiinstrumentalist / songwriter / producer types who can pick up an etch-a-sketch (or a disposable camera, or a household appliance) and turn it into a symphony. As well as being prolific (Peter had already self-produced five albums before releasing on MC through ultra-indie Brighton label Tape Club Records in 2007) Pete’s also a songsmith of rare quality, with a vision all his own combining sunny optimism with a very sympathetic sense of human frailties and weaknesses and the born musician’s love of sonic tinkerings. That Beck-meets-Cornelius-meets-Elliot Smith mix coupled to a raw emotional intensity live has one him praise and acclaim all over the south of England as well as airplay on BBC Radio 1 and a BBC Southern live session, and well-recieved sets at The Great Escape Festival.
