London based musician Peter Conway is an artist upsetting all the right apple carts and is as bright, heretic and unusual as any great artist these shores have produced. Less of the reference points and more of the passion, less of the 'I know where this is going' and more of the unexpected. His voice has a dark, brooding, intensity and when he sings it feels like you are holding something close to your heart. You will not want to let go. It was no surprise that the rising acoustic star chose Filthy MacNasty’s as the venue, with its reputation for hosting the best acoustic and literary events in London, long cemented by a string of alternative heroes, who not only spend quality drinking time inside the bar, but very often end up working behind it. From Shane McGowan to Pete Doherty and the effortlessly cool Johnny Depp, the eclectic crowd and experimental ethos have helped turned this North London ‘whiskey café’ into a world famous Boho hangout, where Peter clearly felt at home.
