Permanent Sunday are a four piece rock band from Vienna, Austria. Their influences range from blues to punk, rock to pop, prog to metal and many more styles along the way. They have a unique brand of catchy verses, heavy riffs and hook laden sing-along choruses. The band was formed in 2020 by Irish frontman Tony Murphy and Austrian lead guitarist Florian Pessl. Both had decided to leave their previous cover band Uncle Dave to focus on writing their own brand of rock music. The timing couldn’t have been worse as the band inception coincided almost to the day with the beginning of a worldwide pandemic. During lockdown songwriting sessions, Scottish musician Ricky Hunter came into the fold as rhythm guitarist and co-songwriter. Once the masks were off and humans could meet in enclosed spaces again, Peruvian drummer Jiro Irikura completed the line-up. The bands debut single ´This Morning‘ is due for release 25th August 2023.
