Perfect Project is a downtempo/soul/trip hop project based in New York City and formed in 2000. It is the collaboration between Dot Bustelo (producer, keyboardist) and Cica (vocalist, songwriter) born in Athens, Greece. Cica has been heard around the world in a series of underground singles including global dj favorite, "The Flying Song" (Yoshitoshi). Dot Bustelo was a music programmer for "One Life to Live" and "As the World Turns". She is also known as an expert in Logic Pro, representing the software for Emagic then Apple Inc. The two artists first met in the popular Boston hip hop/house group, Soultech. When the 7-piece ensemble moved to NYC then disbanded, Dot and Cica continued developing their own unique "after hours" sound. Music critics and reviewers compare them to Soul II Soul, Massive Attack, Portishead and Everything But The Girl. Perfect Project also sites as influences Prince, Duke Ellington and De La Soul. There was a recent surge in Perfect Project's popularity after their downtempo single, "I Love Lovin U" was featured on the Dell Computer music jukebox and their track, "Late Nite" appeared on both The Sopranos video game for PS2 and Nokia phones. The girls first developed their underground following with their EPs, "Cafe Sessions" and "Dot 'n Cica Present", performing live at NYC's biggest dance parties (the GBH parties, Bed, Crobar and Turntables on the Hudson). Perfect Project expanded their fan base into Europe with a U.K. release on Expanded Soul R
