Initially, Perchta was conceived as a project. Surrounded by the inspiring influences of the Tyrolean mountains, it was easy to be carried away and reinterpret the legendary figure of Perchta musically. In 2017, Fabio and Julia spent a significant amount of time in the studio, creating the debut album "Ufång" over two years. Chris Knoll (Asphagor/Agrypnie) joined in 2019 as the guitarist, completing the pre-production. Max Egger (Asphagor) refined the drums, and Theresa Wopfner created atmospheric dulcimer and zither parts in the studio. Since early 2021, the band has formed around frontwoman Julia, bassist Fabio D'Amore, and lead guitarist Chris Knoll, with Simon Schnückel (Lichtspielhaus) on drums, Lukas Massinger (Lichtspielhaus) on the second guitar, and Christian Höll (Vinsta) on the hammered dulcimer.
