Artist
Pawel Grabowski is a multi-instrumentalist musicial & composer, born 1977. He started working with music in the late 90's. In 1998 he formed MiastoNieSpalo, a chamber music trio, working with ambient music, using only acoustic instruments: cello, accordion & double-bass. With this band he won the first prize at the "Ist New Improvisation Music Festival Yass-No'98", in Poland, and released two albums "Festspielhaus" and "Piesni Zalobne I-VII". The band was known for the highly emotional, even sacral, music they created. MiastoNieSpalo disconinued, in late 2000. Since then he has been working as a solo artist. In 2000 Grabowski started taking private classes in classical composition with prof. Krzysztof Olczak, which he continued for the next 2 years. During that period he also moved away from working with acoustic music and turn into electroacoustic music and field recordings, with which he still continues working. That period of his life resulted in few performances of his music, both electroacoustic and acoustic. In 2002 he was invited to take part in IVth Contemporary Art Biennial "ArtGenda 2002" in Hamburg, where he spent 3 weeks working with many artists on audiovisual projects. Also in 2002 he released his first solo release "Diarakth" for a German Laub records. The same year saw him leaving Poland and moving to Dublin, Ireland, where he now continues to work on his music.
