Paulo Muniz was born in february 27th, 1976 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he lived all his life. By the age of twelve he began studying piano and guitar. After several years playing (mainly electric bass) and composing rock, blues, pop, his musical life took another direction: brazilian music. He got interested in bossa nova, samba, MPB (brazilian popular music) and studyed them as much as he could. But something would delay his musical career: Medical School. He entered the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) to be a psychiatrist but three years later quit for personal reasons. Fortunately, he got back into the music field, writing and playing like never before... There were many performances, either alone (playing brazilian music with an acoustic guitar), or with his main band at the time, Bludogues. (playing the bass and singing) In 1999, he had the oportunity to compose a soundtrack for a theatre play and never stopped again. He composed lots of jingles and soundtracks for a TV channel (Canal Futura) and producing became one of his main activities. He also studied arranging and orchestration during those years, which helped him to increase his musicality. In 2002 he recorded his first album with his brazilian songs, called "Compositor". It was just an experiment and consisted of 26 songs recorded in his homestudio, only with acoustice guitar and voice.
