Artist
Folk and Soul. Paul Tefft is a folk, rock, indie, and pop musician from Grand Rapids, MI. He's played in such bands as Simple Letdown, Jenny Perfect, Kimono You Don't, Paul Tefft and the Nation as well as others. He picked up a guitar at 12 years old, and began writing at 13. His music is derived from an ensemble of influences; including Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Paul Simon, Elvis Costello, Ryan Adams and the soulful sound of Detroit's Motown musicians. His lyrics are generally literal, with themes such as love and loss, loneliness, alcohol, and anxiety. Most of his songs tell stories, or offer messages that are considered easy to relate to. Having relocated from Michigan, Paul is currently performing his solo act in Austin, TX. There he has played various venues; such as Momo's, Halcyon Lounge, District 301, Betsy's Bar, The Parlor and more. He has also began recording and plans to release a collection of songs soon. UPDATE: Paul has recently moved back to Grand Rapids, MI where he frequents his favorite venues, playing his music as a solo act. He has also formed a new rock n' roll band called The Love Hate.
