Paul Root Wolpe is an Assistant Professor of Sociology in Psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Psychiatry, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and an Assistant Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology, University of Pennsylvania School of Arts and Sciences. He is the author of the textbook Sexuality and Gender in Society, the end-of-life guide In the Winter of Life, and has written many articles and book chapters in sociology, medicine, and bioethics. Dr. Wolpe is a regular columnist on biotechnology for the Philadelphia Inquirer and appears frequently in the broadcast media, including MSNBC, CBS and ABC Evening News, and Dateline.
