There are at least two artists with the name Paul Reid. The first was born Paul Percival Reeds in Cobourg, Ontario, August 1tth, 1927. He became a popular announcer and was soon hired by CHML (Hamilton, ON). It was in Hamilton that Paul started reading poetry on the air. In 1964, he moved to Quebec and started working with CJAD. It was in Montreal that his legendary Christmas show took on its form and became his most popular piece ever. The second has through the admirable songs and words of Josh Pyke, City and Colour and Tallest Man On Earth, Paul has always aimed tell the truth to his audiences through metaphorical stories and open guitar tunings. Together with his band Paul's folk/pop sound brings with it bright bursts of rolling guitar melodies and vocally honest lyrics that are often attention grabbing. For over a year now, Paul has been playing shows in and around Melbourne as well as taking his full live band to towns in regional Victoria. The past year has seen the debut release of his self-titled three track EP and guest appearances on local radio stations and street press magazines. A significant millstone to come out of the last year was his music video for his debut single ‘Seeds and Water’ which has been well received from the likes of public and music industry viewers. The later part of this year will see Paul head back into the studio to record a new EP and take his new songs on the road throughout towns and cities in Australia. User-contributed text
