Artist
Paul Paccione is a professor of music theory and composition in the School of Music at Western Illinois University. Paccione, who was named Western Illinois' Distinguished Faculty Lecturer in 2002, has earned six Faculty Excellence Awards and was named the College of Fine Arts and Communication Outstanding Teacher (1998). He served as the associate editor of ex tempore, a journal of theoretical and compositional research, and he is co-director of the New Music Festival at WIU. Paccione, who joined Western's music faculty in 1984, has contributed scholarly articles to College Music Symposium, Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy, ex tempore, Perspectives of New Music and Contemporary Music Forum.
