Artist
Paddy was born in 1973 and brought up on the coast near Canterbury before moving to Pembrokeshire where he now lives and works. He developed an early interest in popular, classical and folk music and quickly realised an ability to play by ear (a natural skill that has always made the learning of formal music seem too daunting and restrictive). A lifelong fan of the Moody Blues, he recorded a private set of cover versions of their songs in April 2008. By November of that year he had worked with Jackie Rodda on her inspirational release, ‘Adonai! Master of My Hope’, contributing his own song ‘You See Glory’. His 2010 release, Hope is the Conclusion was rich in Mellotron samples. A similarly Mellotronic, folk-rock influenced album, Songs for a Traveller followed in 2011. Early in 2013 Returning with the Tide, which attempts to follow the formula of a typical Moody Blues album (with Mellotron and Chamberlin samples absolutely everywhere), became his best-selling CD to date, and was followed later in the year by Rigs of the Time, a "bits and pieces" collection that earned him a passing mention on ProgArchives. After Seasons of Change (2014), a private album of cover versions by various artists, the next album Christmas Shopping consisted of seasonal originals and showed a stylistic shift to a cleaner, more pop-focussed sound.
