Patience Please are a pop band from Seattle, Washington. This story begins as a collaboration between Ray Proudfoot (vocals, guitar) and Keenan Dowers (rhodes and electric organ, vocals). The two went to high school together, during which time Keenan played bass for the Seattle/Bellingham band Paxil Rose. They worked together closely through the summer of 2005, until they came to the conclusion that their project needed more members- and a name. Jordan Michelman has played bass all his life, most recently as a member of Altamont and Tacoma's Maladie (now Sonance). He also wrote and recorded an ep during his sophomore year in high school, under the name Last Flowers Till the Hospital. The three spent hours and hours playing together in Keenan's basement, working on Rays songs as well as new contributions from Jordan. Now all they needed was a drummer- and a name. Chris McFarlane has written and recorded material as Suretoss for more than 10 years now, during which time they appeared on more than a dozen compilations and played throughout the northwest. Chris is also the founder of indiepages.com, and a former member of Slomo Rabbit Kick. Now complete, Patience Please began to hone their sound. They are highly influenced by--or wish they could sound like-- Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Superchunk, the Magnetic Fields, and the Weakerthans.
