Pat Silva was born in a little Westphalian village in Germany. Her parents are both musicians: one from Portugal and the other from Germany. As a result, Pat was in touch with the life on stage from an early age. Music and dance became an essential part in her life. She was enthusiastic about tap dance and took guitar lessons. In addition, she gathered her first performances on stage at the tender age of six. These experiences laid the foundation stone for her adult career. Still at young age, Pat turned her back on her hometown and went to Berlin. She tried out many things and worked in diverse jobs. Among others, she completed a formal training as make-up artist and also as fitness coach: always in search of her real vocation- which she eventually rediscovered in music and on stage. After all these years Pat still considers this time to be important steps in her search for the right path to her destiny. The urge of the creative progress is deeply rooted within her and she used this ability throughout her musical career. Although she already took singing lessons and played several jazz gigs during her time in Berlin, her musical education began in earnest after moving to Lisbon in 1999. There she took piano and drum lessons and had numerous teachers, including Cuco Wallraff in stage acting, Sliwia York in classical singing, as well as Paula Oliveira, Ana Sterr Neves and Filomena Amaro: all of who are leading lights in the Portuguese music world.
