Passacaglia has rapidly established itself as one of Britain's most outstanding baroque ensembles, with a reputation for lively, characterful presentations of baroque chamber music, combined with the highest standards of period instrument performance. Since its formation in 1992, the ensemble has received several major awards, tours and prizes, from the Early Music Network, The Arts Council of England, BBC Young Artists' Forum, The Countess of Munster Musical Trust and The John Tunnell Trust. Passacaglia made its debut at London's Wigmore Hall in 1998 and at the Purcell Room in 1999; they have also recorded for several BBC programmes and for the German radio station WDR Köln. Passacaglia were described in Early Music Review as being '... a most impressive young group of players, thoroughly professional, musically sophisticated and confident...' Annabel Knight studied recorder and flute at the Royal College of Music, winning the Wilkinson Prize for early music research. She has broadcast as a concerto soloist on BBC Radio 3 whilst as a freelance musician she has worked with many modern and period instrument ensembles. Louise Bradbury studied recorder at the Royal Academy of Music, where she was awarded the Princess Alice Prize. She has performed concertos with several orchestras and has broadcast as a soloist on BBC radio and television and Classic FM. With the recorder ensemble Trio Tagarela Louise has performed in some of Europe's most prestigious venues and festivals.
