Panther & The Supafly is a collective of musicians that fuse together the sounds of modern hip-hop, R & B, jazz, pop and electronic music. While functioning as a live band Panther & The Supafly is also a dedicated team of producers/beatmakers. While forging a unique sound of their own, they draw influence from such artists as The Roots, Robert Glasper, Prince, Frank Ocean and D'Angelo. Josh Matumona (Panther) has been playing in local bands for over 8 years primarily as a guitar player. He released his first tracks as an MC in 2009 co-producing with Kevin Regamey, Ray Mosaic and Nate Drobner (AstroLogical) These tracks were the foundation that would later incorporate The Supafly, a collective of some of Vancouver’s most promising musicians. Following their first show with the Vantastic Live Crew, they quickly caught the attention of audiences and started acquiring a solid and growing fan base. Panther & the Supafly are delivering a one-of-a-kind live hip-hop experience, combining a full band with elements of traditional hip-hop, electronic and R&B - something not worth missing.
