Panic Area formed in the winter of 2009 by Martin Andreasson and Johan Westerlind, who grew up together at Styrsö outside Gothenburg, and realised they shared the same love for metal and the dark side. Kriss Clark was a hardened Londoner who met Martin when in a London pub throuh mutual acquaintances, and they decided to drink Jägermeister all night long. When Kriss relocated to Gothenburg, he looked Martin up, him and Johan had recently lost their singer/bassplayer for their band Muloka, and they all mutually decided to get together to try and write some songs. With influences like Dillinger Escape Plan and Job for A Cowboy, an unusual mixture of old- and newschool metal evolved, and when bassplayer Erik Frid joined in, Panic Area was complete. Together, they went on to record a demo, which you can now hear online, and don’t forget to catch them at Belsepub August 28th for their first ever live show!
