Pale White Moon is a collective of musicians from the small city of New Haven, CT. They are all kind friends who play along with the plans hatched by songwriter Doug Slawin who travels around with guitars, recording equipment, 60's organs, and an assortment of snacks. Pale White Moon’s debut CD “Call of the Wolf Peach” includes cellos with loop pedals, instrumentals with crickets, and layerd ethereal guitars with haunting female vocals. Many of the songs contained on the CD were featured as part of the Emmy award winning series “This American Life” on the Showtime cable network. This adaptation of Ira Glass’s popular NPR radio program uses the sounds of Pale White Moon to capture the wistful and reflective nature of Glass’s story telling. Some excerpts from the show featuring Pale White Moon are here for you to enjoy. The songs are also part of the upcoming documentary “LaPorte, Indiana”. The film tells the progression of post-war American through the individual lives captured in over 18,000 portraits found in the back of a small town diner. This film is very much in the spirit of the "Up Series" although no one speaks with a British accent. Away from these projects the songs evoke their own pictures to accompany the listener as they travel through their days, iPods attached to their heads, hopefully creating the soundtrack to their own thoughts and lives.
