PaPun Band-Pop Punk Band Throwing out the straight ball of youth, this is the pop-punk band that PLAYS with music! The idea of the name comes from the idea that in Mandarin, “PaPun Band” sounds like “Pop-Punk band”. Also, the frontman- Shiny is a slightly big- sized man, the word Pun is the Mandarin word for fat...clever layer of words, I`d say. The band formed at 2007, back then it was mainly the front man/ guitarist, Shiny; and the bassist Weeman (who left the band in 2020). They played their first mega- crowded show at the TK Rock festival`s battle of the bands. Out of surprise they were chosen as the winner of that contest. With this luck they were bestowed upon, they stared to play in all sorts of music festivals and had a whole lot of gigs going on. Papun never wanted to lecture anyone about anything by their music, but to preserve all the small daily details in life within the lyrics, so that the music itself represents the band in every form. 2021 is the 14th year for the band. They kept the concept of having fun with music. If happiness has a nation of its own, Papan would be its number one spokesperson. They could find a way to ease out all of the pain and sorrow we face in life. Of course the rebel spirit of punk rock still lives in their music, they just express it in a positive way.
