Artist
PYXL8R is the name Ken Palmer uses for his solo musical projects outside of Brainstatik, the instrumental progressive rock band in which he plays keyboards. Often recorded in the middle of the night, each PYXL8R session usually is a spontaneous burst of electronic synthesizer-based long-form improvisation. Sometimes atmospheric and dense with unusual sonic textures, these pieces are primarily recorded live with few overdubs and minimal post-production tweaking. Hardware-based synths and software-based sound sources are intermingled throughout, with Korg and Native Instrument products dominating as his favorite noise-makers. For maximum immersion, listen with headphones in a dark room! User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
