Pnau are an Australian dance music trio originating from Sydney, Australia. The trio consists of musicians Nick Littlemore (vocals, production), Sam Littlemore (production) and Peter Mayes (guitar, production). The project started as a duo with just Nick and Peter before Sam joined in 2016. The group have achieved multiple successes throughout their career with their award-winning debut album Sambanova, their universally acclaimed 2008 release Pnau, Nick's breakthrough side-project Empire of the Sun, and their multiple chart-topping singles. Pnau is also recognized for their heavily publicized apprenticeship under musician Elton John, who signed the then duo after listening to their record Pnau. Several of Pnau's later projects have had John's involvement, such as the 2011 album Soft Universe and an album of Pnau recreations of Elton John's hits called Good Morning to the Night, released in 2012. For Nick, Elton's involvement has been a lifeline. 'He's been incredible at mentoring me through a period of depression,' he reveals. And Pnau have been able to return the favour, working on an album based on the songwriting legend's massive back catalogue, on a project that will amount to a thorough re-examination of his work. It is bound to cause tremendous interest in 2011. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
