OXO is a new wave/pop band out of Miami, Florida, formed by Ish "Angel" Ledesma in 1983, following four albums and two major hits with Foxy ("Get Off" and "Hot Number", #9 and #21 respectively on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, with "Get Off" additionally hitting #1 on Billboard's Soul Singles chart). Band members were Ish Ledesma on lead guitars, synths, percussion and horn arrangements, bassist Frank Garcia (of the documentary "Frank and Cindy"), rhythm guitarist Orlando Nunez and Freddy Alwag on drums. All band members contributed to lead and background vocals. Their most famous song "Whirly Girl", originally titled "Worldy Girl" and written about Ledesma's wife, was their only hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #28 and #10 on the pop chart. Their self-titled, long out of print album spans several styles; new wave ("Whirly Girl", "In The Stars", "My Ride"), Beatlesesque pop-rock ("I'll Take You Back", "Love I Need Her"), Latin ("Wanna Be Your Love", "Waiting For You") and even a touch of country style pop ("Runnin' Low").
