Since it’s debut in 1992, Joël Tremblay, the ex-bass player of Capitalist Alienation (1985), formed Overbass in 1992. Overbass has been spreading the original sound of two basses! Recognized to be one of the most influential and respected band in Quebec’s 90' alternative music scene. Overbass also combine 4 diffrents languages and cultures in their music, Overbass is also known to be one of the top independent DYI profilers and, for sure, one of the best live acts. Overbass's eclectic style comes from various sources such as the Mexican roots of the charismatic singer/lyricist Shantal Arroyo, the Spanish and progressive rhythms of Miguels Perez on keyboards, the aggressive groove of Serge Morin on drums as well as the frenetic doom-style bass lines of jetho and Joel. Overbass creates a whole new world of original sounds and crazy rhythms inspired by international folklore, hardcore, punk and metal music with lyrics in English, French and Spanish. The band likes to call itself a “multicultural hardcore hybrid”. REVOLUTION, their fourth album to date, was produced together with Overbass respected friend Fermin Muguruza and is a scream for revolution and for hope and faith to those who are oppressed as well as to those who achieved true freedom.
