Following in the footsteps of earlier groundbreaking Long Island acts, Our Own Ghosts have developed a style all their own. Beginning as an experiment after much discouragement with their now defunct projects, Graham Capobianco (vocals) and Barish Madanoglu (guitars) came together to create a sound that would surprise even their biggest critics – themselves. Combining their hardcore influences with an indie rock sound and melodious vocals, Our Own Ghosts are an exciting, fresh face. The band’s debut E.P., The House That Silence Built, (produced by Brad Franklin and mixed by Mike Watts) loudly announces the arrival of Our Own Ghosts. The musicianship and authenticity present in each song is a force to be reckoned with. It is difficult to ignore the importance of the band’s unrivaled sound with the appearance of many copycat acts in today’s music scene. Capobianco’s ethereal vocals are as powerful as Madanoglu’s heavy, volatile guitars. Despite their natural ability to create hard-hitting music, the E.P.’s slower tracks are a more mature take on the band’s unprecedented style. Our Own Ghosts not only have a sound uniquely theirs, but their explosive live show more than delivers. The band recreates what they have created so beautifully in the studio in their energetic live performances. With the addition of drummer Robbie Glenn, bassist Christian Hoyos and guitarist Josh Freedman to round out the duo, Our Own Ghosts won’t be phantoms for long. User-contributed text is available
