Oui Legionnaires are “the sound of the underground scene” say BBC Introducing. They are vanguards of the British new indie scene. Playing with angular guitar riffs, intriguing synth parts and unexpected song writing techniques have helped this south west band to fall onto the ears of fans all around the UK. While using their influences to their advantage, at the same time they keep a completely fresh and different perspective on song writing. After the self described ‘yelpcore’ 4-piece released of their debut EP ‘Airships’ in October 2011, Oui Legionnaires have been constantly touring around the UK playing shows in some of the countries most prestigious venues, having supported the likes of Tall Ships, Gunning For Tamar, Dog Is Dead, Tellison, The Milk, This Town Needs Guns and Johnny Foreigner, they have generated interest from well established independent labels (Alcopop! & Big Scary Monsters), as well as a good amount of airplay from BBC Introducing. As they look to release their 2nd commercial release ‘Facts About Stars and Everything Else” which showcases the band’s change in direction from their first EP; a far grown up affair that matches their live shows with more focus on the production, song writing, darker influences and achieving a heavier, fuller sound, although as with all their released material it is completely self produced and recorded showcasing them as technical producers as well as musicians.
