Geisha Otomaru of Shinbashi ( 音丸 1906-1976) was born near the end of the Meiji era and began her singing career in the Taisho era. She was noted for her beautiful clothes and lovely Sokuhastsu hairstyle. In 1947 Hibari Misora at age 10 was the opening act for an Otomaru performance.
