The Otautahi Allstars is an allstar collective group of Christchurch's most ambitious up and coming musicians. They perform an original flavour of live reggae with a hint of jazz. Formed in January 2002, the Allstars are a musical project initiated by Oakley Grenell to record an album of his original tunes in this style. They rehearsed the tunes and then went into the studio to record a full length album. They first performed at the Dux de Lux, before most of the group disbanded overseas on other musical ventures for the remainder of the year.
