The Polish band "Ostatnia Klatka" is a Poznań-based post-punk and cold-wave duo, formed in 2020 during the "CROVID" lockdown. The band quickly gained recognition on the Polish alternative scene thanks to its dark, urban aesthetic and inspirations drawn from the Polish cold wave of the 1980s. The duo consists of Bartosz Juszczak (vocals, bass, production) and Franciszek Majorek (guitar, synthesizers). It was established in Poznań as a project balancing raw post-punk with cold-wave textures that reflect the reality of concrete housing estates. In 2024, they released their debut album, which solidified their position alongside bands like Molchat Doma. Their sound combines pulsating basslines, cold synthesizers, and guitar motifs with melancholic, everyday lyrics about concrete, back alleys, and the bitterness of life. The music transports listeners into spaces between the past and the present, with high-rise blocks and darkness in the background – making it ideal for club concerts and festivals. They draw inspiration from the Polish New Wave, creating an unretouched urban chronicle. They perform regularly, including at events such as Shadow Dance Party or Post-Punk Night, alongside formations like Nox Novacula or Norbelana. Their materials are available on Bandcamp and social media, with growing popularity in post-punk circles. They are planning series of events like Shadowplay to promote contemporary post-punk.
