Orquesta Riverside were a Cuban musical group that became one of the most acclaimed Cuban orchestras of the 1940s and 50s. The orchestra was formed in the late 30s, and in the beginning was directed by local musician Enrique González Mantici. In 1947, that honour was taken by saxophone player Pedro Vila. During the 50s, Orquesta Riverside's Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms were celebrated throughout Latin America. Members included Tito Gómez who joined in 1939, and Manuel "Guajiro" Mirabal Vazquez (later of Afro-Cuban All Stars) who joined in 1960.
