Orquesta Aragón is a Cuban charanga band which was formed on 30 September 1939 by double bassist Orestes Aragón Cantero in Cienfuegos, Cuba. After moving to Havana, they gained great popularity. They have maintained the same instrumentation since, which involves violins, piano, flute, percussion, and vocals. The band has promoted the cha-cha-chá musical style since the 1950s.
