Once in a Moon formed in 2008 to perform the songs of Robert Wells. One new song is written and recorded each month (hence the name), normally by Wells with pianist and cellist Max A Rush. The first twelve songs make the album Months, which was then rerecorded in a day with nick gill, Adam Welsh and Katie Vincent. The next cycle is years, inspired by the animals in the chinese calender. Robert Wells was born in Coventry, educated in Oxford and trained at the Mountview Academy in Wood Green. As well as a performer and composer, he is an actor, artist and librarian. nick gill can be heard doing more professional sounding things in The Monroe Transfer and Fireworks Night.
