In Omewenne's work seas of unconsciousness give rise to sea turtles as deaf gods, chambers of the nautilus as dens of insignificant passion, waves eroding away at a wish for belonging. Beyond the sea there lays a madness of leaves of many colors on a forest floor of numb withdrawal, a Queendom of snow where a last lonely kiss brings remoteness a standstill of ice, a witches sabbath weaves its fiery spells towards a domain of shapeshifting spirit transference. Omewenne has been active with music since the 1980's. Her many themed cassette recordings in 1988/89 were only partially available through Chuck Collison's and Rozz William's (Christian Death) label The Happiest Tapes On Earth and so WOES OF A JILTED BRIDE (versions one and two), ALONG THE SHALLOW SHORES, and HALLOWEEN are perhaps the rarities best known. All these recorded on a tascam Porto5 4-track cassette recorder. In 1998 "NAUTILUS" and "WAVES" made their debut on the compilation Merry Maladies on the Cleopatra label but was not followed up until the Rozz Tribute album THE TONGUE ACHIEVES THE DIALECT. From Omewenne's grief over Rozz's death (he was to her an ex lover, a spiritual brother and an adored friend) came IN WINDS OF TIME MY BODY the collaboration they'd always wanted to create.
