about

Chris and Lee went to school in Shrewsbury and played a guitar each, sometimes collaboratively. The name Omatic came from an assumption made by a pub that received a tape from Chris and Lee on which it was written. But what’s a melody section without a rhythm section? Bollocks, that’s what. So Oliver and Michael made the duo into a proper band while at Shrewsbury sixth form. In September 2000 they recorded some songs and called them "Physics will remove me". Then their focus moved to Birmingham, specifically the university. There they made some friends and wrote some songs which they recorded live at Rich Bitch studios under the title "Binomial stretch of the imagination". Feeling a necessity to progress, a new set of songs were captured in a home recording under the collective name of "my sweet copy". Later in this same vein after some additions and alterations, a right proper album; "Capital Beard? The Venerable Would" was recorded at Magic Garden studio with Gavin Monaghan. Hurrah!
