Ohnesorg is a Norwegian music group based in Oslo. They play music in the radical folk music tradition. They write their own material, but they also do interpretations of different protest songs from all over the world. The band has worked with material originating from the german poet Bertolt Brecht, songs from the Spanish civil war and the resistance against the nazis during World War two, songs from the Latin American nueva canción tradition as well as modern punk bands. Ohnesorg is known for their low-key, melodic sound. They debuted with the album Sanger for rastløse (Songs for the Restless) in 2018. The name Ohnesorg is German and means «without sorrow». It derives from Benno Ohnesorg, a young German student who was shot and killed by plain clothes police during a demonstration in Berlin June 2th 1967.
