Octavo were founded as another RIO offshoot duo by two fragments of Encore + Grande named Guigou Chenevier (drums, keyboards, tenor saxophone) and Guy Sapin (guitars, bass, keyboards). With collaboration from Chris Chanet (baritone saxophone), a co-worker of Guigou in Etron Fou Leloublan, they recorded their only one album titled "Des Pieds Et Des Mains" in September 1990 and November 1991 at Studio des Usines and released in 1992 via Ayaa Records.
