Obstruction to Freedom was a hardcore punk band hailing from Oroville California, that rose from the ashes of the defunct, "Scumdogs," in May of '06. Immediately after forming a demo was recorded with the original Three piece line-up of Fat Pat on bass and vocals, Jay Decay on guitar, and Andy on drums. Shortly after recording the Five song demo, we recruited Dirty Dustin to take over the bass, so Fat Pat could focus on vocals. O.T.F. was going pretty strong after that, even through our work schedules. We did a few planned shows, and each one of our practices seemed like an impromptu show, where our friends and followers would hang out and get drunk. It seemed almost like nothing was gonna stop us, then we had our first down-time in September of '05. Andy's drum set was stolen from Jay Decay's house because Andy owed this guy some money. We were then on official hiatus. At that time Jay decay was in the metal band "Blood on Steel," so we temporarily used Andrew Cardwell, the drummer from Blood on Steel to replace Andy, because he wasn't trying to get a new set. No shows were played in this time period, and only a handful of practices were held. We had a show scheduled in November, and we didn't know what we were going to do. On Halloween night of '05, after a seemingly endless disappearing act, Andy showed up at Jay Decay's Halloween party with a new drum set. All hailed, and an unscheduled show happened... At least untill Andy broke his snare head. We continued to practice
