Everything was looking great for Idaho Progressive hardcore band Obscure Beauty. A very agressive, but very melodic sound akin to bands such as underoath and misery signals. They had a solid line-up, a progressing sound, and were about to go into the studio to pound out the first proper full length. It had been a long road for the 6 Idaho rockers, but it all seemed to be working out, until in the middle of the recording a devastating change happened, 3 members decided it was time to call it quits. Member changes can make or break a band. Obscure Beauty choose to not let it break them. "It was a really rough time for us" says Esai Saldana, guitar player. "We first lost our vocalist, then 2 more people decided to leave, so it left us with a tough choice whether to keep going or to just let it rest. After talking with Gabe(synth/vox) and Murph(bass). We decided that there was still too much we needed to do with this, we couldn't let it die." They decided to keep going. After a few auditions, they found drummer Jake Smith, and Vocalist Derek Younger. Instead of just looking for clones of the former members, they decided to progress to a new sound and a new level. "We didn't want to have just people replace our former members, we love those dudes, and instead of just trying to remake, we decide to make a new mark, and go even further" Now with a new shot of life, they look to keep going right where they left off.
