Artist
Oedipe began his career in Montpellier in 1996 with the following line-up: Bastien on guitar, Laurent on drums, Fred on bass and Maxence on vocals. In 2000, change of singer, and it is Adrien who replaces Maxence. Quickly the group expresses the desire to link hardcore metal and French songs, poetic texts and adrenaline rushes. This is how the term "poetic hardcore" naturally applies to Oedipus . In 2001, the quartet won the 7th springboard for contemporary music and met the collective Rakan . The following year, the band released their first album. Eliza, a conceptual disc, tells the story of a young woman devoured by her inner demons. In 2003, the group took part in the Printemps De Bourges regional springboard for discoveries and in 2004 recorded a maxi: Le lien . Of course, Oedipe did not hesitate to go on stage (more than 150 times) with groups like Lunatic Age , Zombie Eaters , Mum Is Trunk , Peach From The Laid or Toxitoys . It was in September 2005 (already!) that the people of Montpellier released their second album entitled Amaeru.
