Original band NUO (Nusle Artictic Orchestra) released its debut album in August of 2004 under the letter head of Arta 2hp label. This album was the outcome of two years filled with concerts in Prague jazz clubs and was very well received not only by critique (see the reviews), but also by musicians and general public. Music that is produced by nine young, but experienced musicians, steps over the boundaries of jazz often by very non-orthodox trips to other styles. This band performed at several festival stages e.g.: Jazz Goes to Town Hradec Králové, Jazz na ulici Plzeň, Jazz Fest Brno, Jazzjam Cheb, Boskovice, etc., where was an instant success. NUO is branded, together with Vertigo Quintet and S’aight, as a new wave of top quality Czech author jazz music. NUO, multimusic minibigband, formed by four wind instruments, drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, keyboards and notebook of Ivan Acher. All members of the band are top Czech jazz musicians. Music of this band is playful, intelligent, interesting and at the same time accessible, which makes NUO popular even in non-jazz environment. Shortly, no one is bored during the performances. Their last album is Dixie and the gang, released in December 2007.
