DJ Nuno Dos Santos was born in 1976 in Lisbon, Portugal, but grew up in The Netherlands. Besides being a DJ, Nuno is a graphic designer. He is the founder of Kollektiv, a concept and design agency. Dos Santos' passion for music and different styles keep him far from being a constrained DJ. His sets vary from broken beats, deephouse, electro to acid, minimal & techno. It all seriously started in the summer of 1993, when he and his friends organized some underground house parties in his home town of Utrecht, better known as "Gekkenhuis''. It was at these parties that Dos Santos got his first serious DJ experience. In the year 2000, Nuno Dos Santos was chosen to be a participant at the RedBull Music Academy in Dublin. Since then his popularity has only increased and things started rolling. His hard work paid off in October 2005, when Dos Santos was voted Talent of the Year by a panel of 50 top names from the Dutch dance scene. On the eve of the Amsterdam Dance Event, he received the Release (formerly the Dutch DJ) Dance Award in the Amsterdam Escape. He was named 'a worthy successor to Joris Voorn, who won the award in the previous two years'. In the year 2004 he graduated from the Art Academy doing Interaction Design. In his graduation project he combined his love for both design and music, constructing a sound engine on the internet in which sound & images that influenced each other.
