The Nuevo Quinteto Real is the direct descendent of the original Quinteto Real. Like that group, it's aim is simple: to make instrumental tangos designed for listening rather than dancing in which the solos of its instrumentalists can shine. The group is made up of: Horacio Salgán, piano; Ubaldo De Lío, guitar; Nestor Marconi, bandoneón; Oscar Giunta, double bass; Hermes Peressini, violin; With musicians such as these you don't need me to tell you that the playing is of the very highest quality. In recent years Warner Argentina have produced two beautifully designed albums of the Nuevo Quinteto Real.
