Nowfolk is a rap group formed by Moka Only and Ishkan formed in 1999 in Vancouver, Canada. They released their debut album, “Style Gangstas” in 1999, followed by “The Moon” in 2002. Later, two more Nowfolk albums, “Magnesium Opium” (Supposed to be released in 2003) and “The Winter. From 2001,” (Supposed to be released in 2001) were released in 2016 after being shelved for several years, the reason for those 2 late releases was in June 2003 Moka Only's ADAT system was destroyed, effectively halting both albums release until 2016. Nowfolk was a side project to their regular recording schedule and allowed them to experiment a bit more. What was going on at the time they formed: In 1999, Moka Only was featured on the songs "Crypik Souls Crew" and "Crazy Cause I Believe (Early Morning Sunshine)" by LEN from their breakthrough album You Can't Stop the Bum Rush. He also made cameo appearances in the music videos for “Feelin’ Alright” and "Steal My Sunshine". Around this time, he paired with fellow British Columbia native Ishkan to create Nowfolk. Moka Only was decently successful with his solo music while the other member, Ishkan, didn’t make it high up with his solo music.
