Novi Sad (not to be confused with Novisad) is a rock band which formed in Austria in 1989. The name is a play on words which can mean new setting, new garden or nouvelle tristesse. Lineup is: Ludwig Zeininger, Moonday, Klaus Schuch, and Evelyn Blumenau. Their music was described as art pop, avantgarde, jazz-rock, folk-rock and chanson-rock. Novi Sad has participated in more than 100 concerts around the world, sometimes with other artists. The soundtracks for two short films by Gaby Mathes were composed. The films are: Gonna fuck you back to the stoneage (approx. 12 min.) and Alarmstufe Rot (approx. 35 min.) featuring Evi B. as a lead actress. The Austrian painter Robert Resac created the covers for the albums Dreaming Starts Here, Super Oder Normal and Europe's Other Side and participated in live performances creating some kind of art happenings. Novi Sad collaborated with some Austrian writers. The band also collaborated with other artists in studio and live. With Sigi Ecker, Ronnie Urini, Ohmnibus, The Dow Jones Index and others.
