Novel·Fae [nov-uh l-/feɪ/] (an interpretation; new beginnings) is a jazz influenced folkrock band. The debut ‘From Fall to Roanoke’, written & recorded by vanElsacker in the winter of 2016-2017 is a somber and soothing album, with cathartic folk songs. It’s narrative is the search for silence, submerged in loneliness. This album is shaped by simple arrangements and layered tracks, with distinctive vocals to mend the image together. The sophomore studio album ‘Rural States’ is released in January 2019 and is an album with more influences from electronica and jazz. With it’s cinematic and melancholic tones it serves as a soundtrack for a wide range of emotions. Again, it resembles something that people usually go through alone. It is a silent accompany that offers understanding. “Novel·Fae has the ability to shut the rest of the world completely out and totally capture your attention” - Nordic Music Review 2018 The band recreates the songs on stage with a new, louder reading.
