Nova-cal was born 1983 in Los Angeles, CA, his passion for music grew at a young age. He would listen to the old soul R&B records his parents used to play when he was a little kid. When he discovered hip hop, he was hooked and it wasn't long before he knew a mc is what he wanted to be.
