Nosei HaMigba'at (נושאי המגבעת in Hebrew) were an iconic Israeli alternative rock band formed in 1985 in Jerusalem, Israel. Known for their avant-garde style, surreal lyrics, and experimental sound, the band became a significant part of the Israeli underground music scene during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Initially, the band focused on performing covers of Joy Division, but soon began to develop their unique sound. The founding members included Ohad Pishof, Tamir Albert, Alon Choen, Ram Orion, and Iris Perlmuter. The band's first breakthrough came in 1987 when they performed regularly at Jerusalem's Amadeus club, a hotspot for local alternative music. In 1988, with the help of Hezy Davidizian, they self-released their first recorded material in a limited edition of 1,000 cassettes via the "Haozen Hashlishit" records store. This marked the beginning of their journey toward cult status. Their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Who Killed Agnetha Faltskog?’ (?מי הרג את אגנטה פלצקוג), was released in 1991. The album featured landmark tracks in Israeli culture like "The Next One Is a Horse" and "Fiction," cementing their reputation. Despite their success, the band's members faced the challenges of compulsory military service, and the group parted ways with Yishai Adar in 1989. In 1992, the band shocked fans by announcing an unexpected breakup tour before disbanding. Although their time together was brief, Nosei HaMigba'at left an indelible mark on Israeli music, influencing
