North and South were a mildly successful boyband comprising of Lee Otter (vocals), James Hurst (guitar/vocals), Tom Lowe (saxophone/keyboard/vocals) and Sam Chapman (keyboards) who were active between 1997 and 1998. They were the stars of the Children's BBC comedy drama series "No Sweat" (which ran for two series on the BBC's analogue channels) and were formed by Tom Watkins, manager of East 17 and Pet Shop Boys, in 1996. They scored a string of top 40 hits, the biggest of which, "I'm A Man Not A Boy" reached #7 in the UK singles chart in May 1997. However, after poor chart performances of their other singles, the band was subsequently dropped and went their seperate ways in 1998. Their debut album, "Allsorts" remains unreleased but can be occasionally found in promo only format on the internet.
