Noordpool Orkest ('Northpole Orchestra') is an orchestra from the north of The Netherlands, specialised in popular contemporary music. They are a bigband of 42 musicians, featuring strings and woodwind instruments. They play jazz, rock, hiphop, funk, drum 'n bass, cabaret, chansons, blues as well as genres yet to be invented. Founded in 2010 by Groningen-based composer and pianist, Reinout Douma, the Noordpool Orkest takes the world by storm from the Northern Netherlands Netherlands. The orchestra performed (and sometimes recorded) with artists such as Ed Kowalczyk, Waylon, Douwe Bob, Janne Schra, Nynke Laverman, Elske deWall, Wouter Hamel, Ali B, Fresku, Glennis Grace, Jan Akkerman and many more.
